Day 1: Set sail south from Moresby Camp on the tide. See amazing birds and stunning scenery in our 4 hour sail through Cumshewa Inlet. Drop anchor at Skedans, a venerated Haida Cultural Site. This village was a thriving community just over 100 years ago. This site is occupied by Haida Watchmen. The night will spent a one of the lovely anchorages in the area.

Day 2: After a hearty breakfast, we will sail past many small islands and check out the impressive sea lion colonies that bask and frolic in this area.

We anchor off Windy Bay at  Lyle Island where the agreement between the Haida Nation and the Government of Canada was signed to stop the industrialization of the area and preserve the area forever in a National Park.  We are guided through an ancient rainforest where thousand year old spruce and sacred cedar are found.

People do not believe trees grow this big so bring your camera. Off again, we will spend the night near Hotspring Island.

Day 3: Another fine breakfast and Bill’s famous coffee. Hotspring Island’s three naturally formed  hot water pools await our eager bodies. You will never forget the breathtaking views of the ocean and forest from your steamy basin.

This Haida Heritage Site is also overseen by Watchman. Hours can be spent in awe studying the abundant tidal life and incredible rock formations.

Back on board, we sail north past scenery of such rare beauty there are very few places left on the planet like this. You will see the place as the early European travelers saw.

The night will be spent in another one of the beautiful bays in the area.

Day 4: We drop off at another Haida Heritage Site on Tanu Island known for its house pits and fallen poles. This Village is my favourite I think because of the very real feeling of calmness I get whenever I visit.  We then traavel  through  Louise Narrows on the west side of Louise Island and back to Moresby Camp. The tour concludes with a special celebration dinner and farewell to new friends.

Departing from Moresby Camp or Rose Harbour 

 This 5 day tour takes in all the cultural sites and natural wonders of the 7 day but does it in less time. We do this by flying you either from Queen Charlotte - Rose Harbour or Rose Harbour - Queen Charlotte. This allows for a more lesurally trip through the Park by traveling either north to south or south to north. This trip would allow more time for paddleing and site seeing. You also get the bonus of seeing Gwaii Haanas from the air where you get a good feel for the size of the Park.

7 Day Departing Moresby Camp for Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site

The seven day trip is a similar start to the four day but will continue south from Hotspring Island with a stop at beautiful Burnaby Narrows for a low tide paddle and then on to SGang Gwaay, Anthony Island, a UNESCO World Herritage Site the next day. We will pass through Houston-Stewart Channel frequented by many species of mammals from whales to sea lions to seals, otters and more. Expect to see Eagles, Ravens, Falcons and many more native birds.

NOTE: Balance of payment is due 60 days prior to departure. If you are mailing us your deposit, we will hold your spot for 10 days only. Payment in full is due on trips departing within 60 days of booking.

As all our adventures involve small groups, with a limited number of departure dates, our cancellation policies are firm. In the event that you must cancel your booking, you will be charged as follows:

What if Sail Piraeus Adventures cancels a trip?

We reserve the right to cancel a trip due to the lack of sufficient bookings or for logistical problems. If this happens we will issue a full refund immediately. This refund will constitute full settlement between the client and Sail Piraeus Adventures.

Liability?

Due to the unique nature of our adventures and the remote wilderness area in which we operate, you will be required to sign a release from responsibility prior to your trip and signing this release will constitute acceptance of the terms laid out above.

Enjoy lunch, exploration - then as the evening falls, paddle back to the boat, raise the anchor and move behind Limestone Island for the night.

Day 4:We drop off at another Haida Heritage Site on Tanu Island known for its totem poles and then through the Louise Narrows on the west side of Louise Island back to Moresby Camp. The tour concludes with a special celebration dinner and farewell to new friends.
